Cambodia is an enchanting land where the ancient and modern converge. As the location of the former Khmer Empire, it is blessed with immense historical attractions. During the Angkorian period the Khmer dynasty ruled much of what is now Laos, Thailand and Vietnam. This can be witnessed at the fabled temples of Angkor – monuments unrivalled in scale and grandeur anywhere else in Asia. Phnom Penh is a charismatic capital with colonial heritage, a smart riverside promenade and a gleaming Grand Palace. Siem Reap has luxury hotels that cater for visitors to the Angkor temples.
Soak up the Cambodian capital’s top attractions during an afternoon city tour. After arriving at Phnom Penh International Airport, we will transfer to the hotel before lunch at our leisure. We then set off on a tour to learn about Cambodian culture and history. We start at the National Museum, housed in sprawling grounds that contain tropical gardens and a Khmer-style terracotta museum. Here we will browse the vast collection of Khmer sculpture and artefacts dating back to the 4th century. Our next stop is the Silver Pagoda and adjacent Royal Palace. Home to Cambodia’s official royal residence, the grounds are awash with regal structures, intimate temples, collections of gifts from foreign leaders and murals that paint a picture of the country’s past. Dinner is at local restaurant. Please note: Shoulders and knees must be covered at the Royal Palace and the National Museum. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Trade in the rapidly-developing capital for the historic streets of Siem Reap. After breakfast, we will have free time to relax or squeeze in some final sight-seeing before we head to the airport for a short flight to Siem Reap. Start your exploration of Cambodia at the jewel in its crown – mighty Angkor Wat. Upon arrival at Siem Reap International Airport, we will drive to the hotel for check-in with lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon, we follow in the footsteps of kings as we explore the centre of the Khmer Empire, Angkor Wat. Undoubtedly the country’s most spectacular temple, Angkor Wat is among the world’s largest religious monuments, spanning 162.2 hectares. It was built in the 12th century as a Hindu temple, but later transformed into a place of worship for Buddhists, and served as the centre of the Angkor Empire. We then head to dinner at our leisure before taking a stroll around bustling Angkor Night Market, home to more than 100 stalls selling electronics, jewellery, arts, clothing and everything in between. Please note: Visitors are required to keep their knees and shoulders covered at all sacred sites. The guide and transportation will be at our disposal until 9 pm. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Today’s temple-hopping adventure starts at the more remote temples of Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre. Well-preserved 10th century Banteay Srei is famed for its pink sandstone walls adorned with apsara carvings. Banteay Samre is a 12th century Hindu temple built in the style of Angkor Wat. On our way to lunch, we stop at a village and, depending on the season, watch rice being planted and sugar palm being made. The afternoon’s temple exploration starts at the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the Khmer Empire’s last capital built in the late-12th century. Inside the city’s ancient walls, we visit Bayon and its hundreds of giant carved faces; 11th century Baphoun; Hindu temple, Baksei Chamkrong; and Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Please note: Visitors are required to keep their knees and shoulders covered at all sacred sites. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Experience life on the revered Tonle Sap Lake before discovering a quaint collection of Angkorian temples. After breakfast, we hit the road for the Tonle Sap Lake, South-East Asia’s largest freshwater lake, and enjoy a gentle cruise to one of the fishing villages that dot the water. Here, we can see how life is lived as we sail past homes, schools and shops that bob on the water. After lunch at a local restaurant, it’s time to explore more temples. Highlights include Prasat Kravan, a small 10th century temple comprising five reddish brick towers; 10th century state temple, Pre Rup; and Mebon Oriental, dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. We then return to the hotel with the evening at our leisure to experience Siem Reap’s lively nightlife. Please note: The high-level water season is from mid-July to mid-February and the low-level water season runs the rest of the year.. Overnight in Siem Reap.

We head back to Siem Reap to delve into Cambodia’s rich culture at Artisans Angkor. The organisation has spent more than 2 decades rekindling the country’s traditional arts, training and employing artisans across the province. We meet artisans as they carry out silk weaving, stone and wood carving, lacquerware, and ceramics. After lunch, we transfer to Siem Reap Airport for our departure flight to next destination. Note: The itinerary is subject to last-minute change and modification depending on local conditions. If this occurs, we will provide an alternative activity.

Travel breaks down borders and brings people together: The nearly 900 million people who travel every year make the sector one of the biggest in the world, a major employer and a key element in the global economy. But this has its downside, too: increasing pollutant emissions from the tourist traffic, loss of coastlines and other landscapes through excessive building development and sexual exploitation of children are just some of the negative consequences of the growth in global tourist travel. In order to minimize the negative impacts and enhance the positive ones, our Corporate Responsibility Strategy focuses on four prime issues:
