Day 1 - Arrival
Upon arrival at Chiang Mai International Airport, our team leaders and drivers will meet at the airport to accompany you to your hotel. Day 2
Day - Culinary Learning & Waterfalls
After breakfast, follow the English team leader to the Nong Hoi local market. It takes about 40 minutes to buy fresh ingredients (chicken, prawns, herbs and various vegetables) for the next cooking class. We will take you through the various interesting tropical plants, then we take the minibus to the Baan Hong Nual cooking school. In this Lanna Thai-style open kitchen, we will wear a chef's hat, put on an apron, wash hands, and begin to experience the feeling of being a chef. The teachers will introduce all the utensils in the kitchen and various Thai food condiments, and then guide us step by step how to cook Thai food. After two dishes, you can take a break and continue cooking and drink some tea, coffee or herbal drinks. Go back to class and finish the third and fourth dishes. The school offers rice, served with curry, and dessert. After the course, the children will receive a beautiful English version of the recipe. After lunch, we headed to Bua Thong Waterfall. Known locally as the “Sticky Waterfall”, this waterfall is also one of the eight most famous waterfalls in Asia. Because its unique limestone formation is combined with water, there is no need to worry that the children will slip. The ropes are attached to the waterfall, you can try to climb as well. The children can experience the fun of climbing along several different waterfall layers .We will spend a happy afternoon here. In the evening, we will go to Tatong . Day 3
Day 3 - Local Village Explorations - local canoe; jungle trekking
In the morning we move to Baan Phatai Pier and drift down the Kok River, a tributary of the Mekong River. While enjoying the beautiful scenery, we will approach a Karen village, settled in the Golden Triangle. After drive to Ban Yafu Village, to meet the Lahu, tribe, one of the smallest and most ethnically unusual in northern Thailand. This ethnic mountain tribe originated in China and is an independent self-sufficient peasant tribe belonging to one of six different Lahu tribes. While interacting with the families in the village, we will listen to the team leader about the history and unique culture of the indigenous groups. Then, from the village of Yafu, we will climb to the Doi Boi viewing platform. Our food and beverage support car has already reached this wonderful picnic spot. What better than eating and drinking in nature? After the picnic, we will drive to Mae Chan to stay in our hotel, where we will dine as well. Day 4
Day 4 - "Little Explorer in the Golden Triangle" - hand made Thai paper; Mekong River cruise
After breakfast, we move to Jinnaluck Mulberry Saapaper. The millennium-old mulberry paper is called the "living fossil" . Let our little explorers make the first paper of their lives and design and write. At noon, we will take a local land transport tank (E-Tan) and go to the local valley restaurant (La Valle) for lunch. After there will be time for a walk to the famous viewpoint Wat Phra That Phu Kao overlooking the Mekong River. There is a symbol of the famous Golden Triangle. The junction of Myanmar, Laos and Thailand. A boat ride on the Mekong River will follow sailing into the landscape. We continue to Chiang Rai, stopping on the way at Wat Rongkhun, which is called the last pure land in the world. The Thai temple's splendid tradition, the natural white building is located between the mountains and the green water, reflecting the purity of the blue sky and white clouds. On the way back to Chiang Mai, we can stop at the local Mae Khachan Hot Springs, and try to boil eggs with the hot springs water. In the evening, stay with the children at the Chiang Mai Boutique Hotel. Day 5
Day 5 - the Karen Tribe Elephant Sanctuary
After breakfast, drive to the Karen Tribe Elephant Sanctuary. Thailand has always been known as the “Country of Elephants”, and the elephant is the patron saint of the Thais. Since ancient times, they have always played an important role in Thai traditional culture and agriculture. Today, you are coming to a protected area that is designed to live in harmony with elephants: they use elephants as part of the local indigenous culture, and let elephants live their lives without forcing them to perform. The village head will lead you to visit the village and tell the elephant culture of the Karen tribe. Elephants are not on exhibition here. Here you can feed the elephant and learn how to ride an elephant in a natural and safe way (no seats available). You will learn how to take care of sick elephants and learn some simple taming instructions. At noon, we will enjoy a Thai-style meal at the camp. In the afternoon, the children can get in touch with the elephants and walk along the river with the animals. After that, play with the elephants in the river, and bathe these "gentlemen's giants". If you don't want to wet your clothes, you can stop by the shore and watch the elephant bath. If you want to join them, elephants will also welcome you to cool down with them. For your convenience and to ensure the smooth end of your trip, we recommend that you choose a flight that will return in the afternoon or evening.
